WorkBright Proudly Announces Prestigious B Corp Certification

Pioneer in remote employee onboarding technology earns one of the highest recognitions of socially and environmentally responsible businesses.

Boulder, CO, September 27, 2022 — WorkBright, a leading Human Resources technology platform specialized in remote onboarding software, announced today that it has become a Certified B Corp.

“Our B Corp Certification reinforces our mission as a people-first enterprise,” said WorkBright COO, Chapelle Ryon. “We’re honored to join the B Corp community using business as a catalyst for positive change.”

B Corps are a growing movement committed to positive societal and environmental impact. To become a Certified B Corp, organizations undergo a rigorous review by B Lab, the non-profit network that manages the program. After meeting the high performance, transparency, and accountability standards required for Certification, companies earn their place in the growing network of B Corp organizations.

WorkBright joins more than one hundred Colorado companies and five thousand global businesses sharing the B Corp distinction, including industry-leaders like Patagonia, Allbirds, Warby Parker, and New Belgium Brewing.

“The B Corp badge may be new, but our commitments to people and planet are not,” says WorkBright Founder David Secunda. “WorkBright has been on the forefront of inclusive and planet-friendly initiatives since our inception.”

WorkBright’s people-focused policies are already evident in their company makeup. Though the tech sector is historically weak in company diversity, WorkBright reported its staff and leadership are 50% non-male identifying and almost a third of employees self-identify as BIPOC.

The passion for people isn’t just internal. With four paid days off to volunteer each year, WorkBright’s employees are also leaving their mark on the broader community. In 2021, WorkBright’s twenty five employees spent 357 hours delivering meals, supporting child care providers, writing birthday cards to under-appreciated communities, and removing pine trees to reduce burn risk and promote biodiversity in Colorado.

“Our volunteering goal is 100% participation, and we’re committed to getting every person at WorkBright involved in a cause they’re passionate about,” says Volunteering Lead, Gina Dooley

In addition to volunteering, WorkBright donates to support the work of their non-profit partner, Boulder Bridge House, a workforce development and housing-first enterprise for those experiencing homelessness.

WorkBright also strives to be environmentally responsible by remaining Carbon Neutral. In 2021, they produced 17 tons of CO2 emissions which were 100% offset through a partnership with NativeEnergy. The partnership prevents the conversion of 14,546 acres of native grasslands to crop-based agriculture or other activities.

David reflects, “I’m grateful to each person around the table for the great teamwork and devotion that made this B Corp Certification possible.”
