BOULDER, CO – September 1, 2025 – WorkBright, the leader in i9 compliance, today announced the release of Document Verification, a key feature add-on to its flagship I-9 solution, delivering a powerful upgrade to data accuracy, compliance, and ease of use. The new feature leverages OCR and AI technology to scan work authorization documents for accuracy and authenticity, giving hiring teams confidence that documents are valid. This additional layer of security, coupled with automated eVerify case creation and management, gives employers an added level of confidence in high-volume and/or remote hiring.
According to the 2024 Socure Document and Biometric Identity Fraud Report, 63% of rejected IDs are due to “document of image” fraud. This growing trend highlights the need for automated tools that can quickly detect fake or manipulated documents during the hiring process.
“The rise of sophisticated digital tools has made it faster and easier than ever to create fraudulent documents—but it’s also pushed us to innovate just as quickly,” said Chapelle Ryon, CEO of WorkBright. “Our new Document Verification technology is designed to detect these threats before they become compliance issues. We're focused on helping employers stay compliant without adding unnecessary complexity.”
Built directly into WorkBright’s I-9 workflow, the process is seamless for new hires. Document Verification will validate a wide range of acceptable documents during the process. The result: faster onboarding, reduced compliance risk, and more time for HR teams to focus on recruiting and retaining top talent.
Early adopters are already seeing results: “Document Verification’s accuracy in detecting fraudulent documents has been outstanding. Recently, it flagged an applicant who attempted to submit fraudulent paperwork four separate times—and caught every one. This gives our team complete confidence that we’re onboarding only verified, compliant talent,” shared a WorkBright customer.
Document Verification will be officially unveiled at SIA’s CollaborationX AI and Tech Conference, taking place on September 9-11. Attendees at CollaborationX will have the opportunity to see live demos and speak directly with WorkBright’s compliance experts.
